My Home

I am alone. Not even my shadow is accompanying me. I climb the last step, the cool breeze slaps on my face, my eyes get transfixed, almost a meditative trance, spread before me are myriad shades of green, dotted with yellow and pink swaying flowers, blending effortlessly into the shimmering silvery grey of the water reflecting the skies.

Time pauses for eternity.

The sun peeks through the cloud making me blink and break away from the trance, the sky clears slightly, adding azure to the landscape. Desperately trying to hold on to this perfect moment, I click the device mechanically. Somehow the picture doesn’t look the same through it’s lens.

I look around. I reflect.

Mountain tops and the journey to the top have always enchanted me – walking through jungles, tackling rocks and slippery mud paths, listening to the call of the birds and the bees and gurgling streams and waterfalls, filling in all my senses and feeling alive.

I feel I’ve arrived. I am home.
